Students rushed onstage to join Math teacher Richard Somma in a rousing rendition of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Can I Kick It?” at the first Ampléfest music festival last Friday. Such was the atmosphere of the concert, which benefited Habitat for Humanity.

The festival featured 10 acts of student and faculty musicians performing a wide range of music genres. The crowd heard rock bands and acoustic guitar solos, a capella choirs and piano solos.

“While it wasn’t intentional, we ended up having a wider variety of music than expected,” said concert organizer Nick Gerard (11). “We were pleased that the concert wasn’t completely monopolized by rock bands as we feared it would.”
