Welcome to our Vietnam Page.

We made this page for a school programming class project. The project focuses on In Pharoah's Army by Tobias Wolf. The book is a story about the Vietnam War and the personal experiences of Tobias Wolf. Our topic for this web page was the world opinion during the war. The reason for this assignment is "Book Day." Book Day is taking place on February 13. Normal classes are suspended and teachers run workshops about the book. One of the workshops takes place in the computer room, and many of the programming classes are making web pages to explain the book not only to fellow students inside school, but also to students and others out of school.

Here's a summary of what we found:

We found that Russia actually supported the North Vietnamese, and were the first to cause severe damage to the US. Australia sided with the South Vietnamese. This wasn't for the reasons you would think. Australia sided with the South Vietnamese to keep an alliance with the US. Australia didn't care about the outcome too much as long as they were on America's good side.

This is a map of Vietnam around the time of the war. Open the image for a closer look.

Here is a picture of troops in vietnam.
