Welcome to the home page of the Horace Mann Computer Science Team. Our team competes in both regional and national programming competitions. We participate in the American Computer Science League every year.
Our team has been nationally recognized several times in the past. In both 1998 and 1999, our team won third-place in the ACSL All-Star Contest (3-person senior divison)! In 1997, we came in fourth place of the 3-person senior division (with a team that actually had no seniors in it). We were awarded first place in that same division in the 1995 ACSL All-Star Competition. In 1994, we came in third.
Tryouts for the team happen in October. This year's tryout consisted of having to write a simple interest program which compounded interest annually. The team's coach is Mr. Francis. Mr. Francis has coached the team since it was created nine years ago.
