| Varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams play a full schedule of interscholastic competition. Horace Mann is a member of the Ivy League of Independent Schools ("The Ivy League"). The Ivy League is an eight-member organization of private schools in the metropolitan New York area. Its main function is to establish rules and policies for interscholastic sports and to promote social harmony among the coaches and student players through informal gatherings. The current members of the league are: Collegiate, Dalton, Fieldston, Hackley, Horace Mann, Poly Prep, Riverdale, Trinity.
