|
Letter to Alumni Greetings, We have just finished a very busy year here. I hope that, upon your visits to Horace Mann you find that, as much as things have changed, they remain the same. The changes can be seen in the increase in diversity among our student and faculty body, in the curriculum selections and discussions in class but the essence of a great education has remained the same. Students are engaged in meaningful, thought provoking conversation, there are a wide variety of classes to choose from and the exceptional, quality instruction that prepares students to become successful in work and in life. As I always say, regardless of how long you've been gone we hope that your journey has been successful and that the education you received here at HM was extremely beneficial in preparing you for your chosen path. I am still very interested in the ongoing efforts to bring Alums of Color back to Horace Mann. Reconnecting with Alums of Color continues to be another vital part of my work. This effort to reach out to our Alums, has translated into Internship Programs and Senior Project programs for our students. The admissions office has also benefited as we experienced an increase in applications from legacies and siblings of color for the 2003-2004 school year. We look forward to a continued partnership with you - a most valuable, untapped resource in our community. I hope to see you at our Alums of Color reception on October 24!!! All the very best, CLSM
